“To ensure the humane treatment of birds that supply us with down, as of fall 2014 Patagonia uses only 100% Traceable Down. We trace it from farm to factory to make sure the birds that supplied it were never force-fed or live-plucked, and that our down is never blended with down from sources we can’t trace. The Traceable Down Standard provides the highest assurance of animal welfare in the apparel industry so you can stay warm in good conscience.” Learn more at patagonia.com/traceabledown
Saw the first MTL screening of the brilliant Fraser Munden’s amazing new short film, The Chaperone 3D. He created this animated film over the last two years with partners in crime Neil Rathbone, Chris McMahon, producer Mike Glasz. “One memorable night in the 1970s, a motorcycle gang crashed a Montreal middle-school dance. In this 3D animated documentary, a retired schoolteacher and a DJ recall their heroic exploits that fateful evening. Combining rotoscope technology, puppets, miniature stop-motion, and live-action kung fu, The Chaperone is a story too crazy not to be true.”-TIFF
A visual response to Carl Sagan’s famed ‘Pale Blue Dot‘ piece where he muses on our planet’s appearance in a photograph taken by the Voyager 1 space probe. The most distant photograph ever taken of Earth. A personal project animated by Joel Somerfield at Order, a London-based design studio.
Artist Talk with Alia Shawkat & Lance Bangs.
As Geoff McFetridge’s #1 Fan, this video feature/interview is pretty BIG TIME – Mega exciting to get an insiders view into his space, head and work. Actress/artist Alia AKA Maeby Fünke of Arrested Development (one of my fave shows of all time) as the ‘interviewer’ makes this vid even MORE entertaining. MOCAtv is a contemporary art video channel, developed as a digital extension of the education and exhibition programming of The Museum of Contemporary Art, LA. All about it.
