Saw the first MTL screening of the brilliant Fraser Munden’s amazing new short film, The Chaperone 3D. He created this animated film over the last two years with partners in crime Neil Rathbone, Chris McMahon, producer Mike Glasz. “One memorable night in the 1970s, a motorcycle gang crashed a Montreal middle-school dance. In this 3D animated documentary, a retired schoolteacher and a DJ recall their heroic exploits that fateful evening. Combining rotoscope technology, puppets, miniature stop-motion, and live-action kung fu, The Chaperone is a story too crazy not to be true.”-TIFF
Nick Mulvey is not only a singer-song-writer but also plays the ‘hang’, one of my favourite percussion instruments of all time, with the group Portico Quartet. Nick’s new album NITROUS is officially out Oct 27th 2013.
A NOWNESS. production.
All kinds of goodness in this beautifully shot video… the music/sound is fantastic and unexpected, props to NOWNESS’ Hamza for this wicked portrait of pro motorcyclists Tim O’Brien and Greg Garrison revving across a barren Nevada plain. Model Shaun de Wet looks mighty fine in the biker-inspired designs by up-and-coming NY-based designer Tim Coppens.

Lise Bienaimé is the creator and owner of La Chambre aux Confitures, an incredible library of jam and preserve store, offering fruit, herb, and spiced combinations by season. I adore crafts people like Lise who do one thing with passion, and do it well. She pays serious respect to the art of jam making and preserving fruit, honouring nature’s seasonal fruits, and showcasing her product in a simple, yet aesthetically pleasing design.
The Loaf in a box is a rad collabo concept, where good food & good design meet. The pop-up existed last year and was located in the Paseo de Francia, San Sebastián. Leading the project was Ibán Yarza, a journalist, translator, and self-taught baker as well as celebrity-baker and journalist Dan Lepard, who writes for the Guardian UK and keeps his own bread site. “With The Loaf in a box we wanted to create a meeting point where baking and gastronomy lovers could talk and debate around bread, our marvelous product. We believe that exchanging ideas gives a great chance to learn, and for that reason, we created The Loaf in a box.”
