Brooklyn Grange is a team of five folks committed to realizing a more sustainable and delicious NYC since 2010. Meet the team:
BEN FLANNER. Head Farmer, President. Milk, one sugar. Ben is a trained Industrial Engineer with a background in business and marketing. In 2009 Ben co-founded Eagle Street Rooftop Farms, the first rooftop soil farm in New York, and is widely recognized as a leader in rooftop urban agriculture. He is currently developing sustainable energy technology.

GWEN SCHANTZ. Chief Operating Officer. Has somehow managed to live this long on tea. Gwen is an experienced urban farmer, a long-time sustainable food advocate, and co-founder of the Bushwick Food Cooperative & CSA.

ANASTASIA PLAKIAS. Managing Partner, Director of Communications. Cream, no sugar. Anastasia has worked in some of the city’s finest restaurants and produced countless events. Her photography has been featured in a number of major international publications as well as several “visual aid” text messages to chefs who are placing orders.

CHASE EMMONS. Chief Beekeeper/Director of Special Projects. “Do you have French Press?”. Chase, a serial entrepreneur, has been farming and beekeeping for nearly a decade. He currently owns and operates C & C Orchards, a chemical-free orchard and apiary in western Massachusetts.

MICHAEL MEIER. Farm Manager. Dark and strong! Michael is a Florida native who escaped to Brooklyn Grange after several years in digital media. He is an avid urban homesteader committed to sustainability, food justice, and slingshotting the consolidated-corporate global big-food goliath.
